Fort Wayne, Indiana: 1450 WLYV is paying tribute to the radio station’s roots by signing on “Fort Wayne’s Good Time Oldies – 14-50 WLYV”.
In 1966, WLYV signed on the air as Ft. Wayne’s first Top-40 radio station, playing hits from artists such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Monkees, The Supremes and many more, and featuring a stable of popular DJ’s known as “The LYV (live) Guys”. One of the original “LYV Guys”, Rick Hughes, joins WLYV as Friday afternoon and Weekend host and will celebrate his 50th anniversary as a Ft. Wayne broadcaster later this year. Rick says “I’m excited to continue the tradition of WLYV as a music station – we’re going to have lots of fun playing these great songs again on 14-50 WLYV!”
“Good Time Oldies” 14-50 WLYV features a playlist consisting of artists such as The Beatles, Elton John, Chicago, Eagles, The Rolling Stones, The Doobie Brothers, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Elvis Presley, Fleetwood Mac, Three Dog Night and more – playing songs that were at the top of the charts primarily in the 60’s and 70’s. 14-50 WLYV will also feature agricultural programming and weekend lifestyle shows.
“Everyone at Adams Radio is excited to bring music back to WLYV”, says Program Director JJ Fabini. “Good Time Oldies is a fantastic format for listeners and advertisers alike”, says Market Manager Chris Monk.
WLYV is part of Adams Radio Group-Fort Wayne, with 8 stations serving the greater Fort Wayne Market. Adams Radio Group is a medium market radio company focused on local radio operations, creating great marketing opportunities in its communities.
