Lakeville, Minnesota: Scott Smith has been promoted to VP of Programming for Adams Radio Group. Adams owns and operates radio stations in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Suburban Chicago / Northwest Indiana, Las Cruces, New Mexico and Salisbury – Ocean City, Maryland.
Scott has been with Adams Radio since it acquired stations in Northwest Indiana. Since 2012, Scott Smith has served as Program Director for WLJE-FM (Indiana 105), WXRD-FM (X Rock 103.9), WZVN-FM (107.1 The Z) and WAKE-AM (1500 WAKE). In 2013, Smith was named one of “Radio’s Rising Stars” by Radio Ink Magazine. Before joining Adams Radio Group, Smith was an on-air personality for CBS Radio’s Fresh 105.9 WCFS-FM in Chicago, IL, where he hosted afternoons and later the morning show. Smith’s background also includes hosting morning shows in Tulsa, OK, and South Bend, IN, where he was also an Assistant Program Director and Music Director. He has been heard on a variety of stations and multiple formats since his first radio job at his hometown country station while still in high school. Smith received his degree in communication from Northern Illinois University.
