Minneapolis MN – Adams Radio Group has officially closed on the Fort Wayne clusters being acquired from Oasis Radio and Summit City. The new Adams Radio of Fort Wayne will consist of Heritage Country Station 93.3 WBTU, Hot 107.9 WJFX, Classic Rock WXKE, 96.3 WNHT, 1250 WGL AM, 1450 WLYV AM and translators (Metro Stations) 103.3 and 96.9.
Ron Stone, President and CEO of Adams Radio Group has recently issued several press releases regarding the staffing of this 8 station cluster including DOS Kevin Musselman, PD for WBTU and 103.3 Mike Scott and PD for WJFX and WWFW Robbie Mack. Stone also announced the retention of 25 year PD vet JJ Fabini as Operations Manager and hinted that there were still other major announcements forthcoming.
Stone said that expectations are running high regarding formats. What he could immediate announce was that “WBTU would be properly balanced as an adult country station focused on 18-49 and WJFX would not be focused only on 18-24, and would look to serve its true 18-34 core. Expect to hear a lot in the next few days about a frequency sway with Classic Rock 104 and 96.3 providing the rock station with a Class B signal making a lot of classic rock fans in Indiana VERY happy! What will debut on 103.9? Stay tuned Stone says. Fox sports will begin airing June 3 on 1250 AM WGL will local flavor growing over time. As for the two Metro Stations and WLYV…Stone says…”coming soon”!
Stone also mentioned that Adams will be closing on another cluster in Northern Indiana outside Chicago, an area known as “The Region” on July 31.
